IMCB Dispute Filing

Terms of Use

By submitting a dispute to the International Matchmaking Compliance Board (IMCB), you acknowledge and agree to the following:

    1. Scope of IMCB Review

    • IMCB reviews disputes solely related to the ethical standards and compliance practices of professional matchmaking companies.
    • IMCB does not review:
      • Personal or relationship outcomes (breakups, lack of chemistry, etc.)
      • General dissatisfaction with introductions that met agreed criteria
      • Refund-only requests not tied to an ethical or contractual violation
      • Criminal or civil matters such as fraud, harassment, or assault (which must be reported to the proper authorities)
      • Issues related to services outside matchmaking (coaching, events, or dating apps not covered under an accredited matchmaking contract)
    • A complete list of excluded disputes is published on the IMCB Dispute Resolution page and incorporated into these Terms.

    2. Administrative Fee

    • An administrative fee is required to file a dispute: $250 for non-accredited companies, $150 for IMCB-accredited companies.
    • Accreditation status will be verified by IMCB. If the incorrect category is selected, IMCB will adjust the fee accordingly.
    • This fee is non-refundable, regardless of whether the dispute is dismissed, accepted, or referred onward.
    • The fee covers intake, secure file setup, and initial triage and review.

    3. Additional Costs

    • If mediation or arbitration is recommended, such services will be provided by IMCB's independent ADR partner and billed separately at the partner's published rates (currently $350/hour).
    • Optional consultations with IMCB experts are available at $500/hour, with a discounted rate of $350/hour for accredited companies.

    4. Process & Outcomes

    • Filing a dispute does not guarantee mediation, arbitration, or any specific outcome.
    • IMCB reserves the right to dismiss disputes that fall outside its scope.
    • All parties named in a dispute will have the opportunity to provide their own statement and documentation.
    • Outcomes of mediation or arbitration are determined by the independent ADR professional, not IMCB.

    5. Agreement to Mediation or ADR

    • By submitting this form, you acknowledge that IMCB may recommend mediation, arbitration, or another form of dispute resolution.
    • If you choose to proceed, you agree to participate in good faith with the independent ADR professional.

    6. Confidentiality & Non-Retaliation

    • All information submitted will be kept confidential and used only for review and resolution of the dispute.
    • Documentation may be shared with the matchmaking company named in the dispute, IMCB advisors, or independent ADR professionals as necessary.
    • Both parties agree not to engage in retaliatory actions during or after the dispute resolution process. Violations may be considered an ethical breach.
    • All information will be handled in accordance with IMCB's Privacy Policy.

    7. Code of Conduct Acknowledgment

    • Accredited companies and members of IMCB are bound by the IMCB Code of Conduct.
    • Violations of this code may influence the outcome of the dispute.

    8. No Legal Advice or Representation

    • IMCB is a neutral standards and compliance body.
    • IMCB does not provide legal advice, legal protection, or legal representation.
    • Filing a dispute with IMCB does not prevent you from pursuing independent legal remedies.

    9. Limitation of Liability

    • IMCB, its officers, advisors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any damages, losses, or claims arising from or related to the dispute resolution process.
    • By filing a dispute, you agree that IMCB's role is limited to intake, review, and referral, and that decisions regarding mediation, arbitration, or outcomes rest with the independent parties involved.

    10. Submission Agreement

By submitting this form, you confirm that:

    • The information you provide is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge.
    • You understand the administrative fee is non-refundable.
    • You agree not to engage in retaliation during or after the process.
    • You have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Use.
